Graveside services for Ann Kerr Thickstun, 82, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, October 12, 2012, in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Thickstun died Monday, October 8, 2012, in Tulsa, OK.

She was born August 1, 1930 in Holly Grove, AR. She met Millard Dale Thickstun after World War II while at North Texas State in Denton, TX and they were married on January 29, 1949 in Lubbock, TX. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and was the pianist at the Abernathy First United Methodist Church for 45 years. She was employed at the Texas Tech Dance Department for 15 years and later taught piano lessons out of her home.


She was preceded in death by 4 siblings and her husband, M. Dale Thickstun in 2001. She is survived by a son, Jon Charles Thickstun of Yukon, OK and a daughter, Juliana Peyravy of Tulsa, OK, 4 grandchildren; Sara Alison Peyravy, Johnathon Omeed Peyravy and his wife Nadine, Rebekah Ann Peyravy and Chloe Nicole Thickstun and a great grandson, Nathan Ryan Peyravy.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
