LAMAR NEWTON DIES OF INJURIES
Lamar (Straw) Newton, 67, was killed at 9:25 p. m. Friday when struck by an automobile on Highway 190 in Maysfield.
According to Sheriff Carl Black, Newton stepped from between two cars onto the highway and into the path of a car driven by B. H. Hill of Brownwood.
Patrolmen Jack Straley and John Blansett and Sheriff Black investigated the accident.
Funeral services were held at 3 p. m. Sunday at the Maysfield Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Frank Newton and The Rev. Malford Heirholzer officiating. Burial was in Pebble Grove Cemetery.
Survivors are one son, Lanier Newton of Tyler; three brothers, Roy and H. G. of Maysfield, and Wheary Newton pf New Albany, Miss.; one sister, Mrs. May Mosley of Batesville, Arkansas; and one grandchild.
Marek - Burns Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
