Helen B. Totty passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in Flatonia, TX, where she had lived since March of 2008 and was cared for by her daughter Carol. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, November 29th at Abell Funeral Home in Abernathy. Rev. Mike O'Donnell will officiate the private family services. Burial will follow in the Abernathy IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.

Helen was born to Charles and Alice Mahon on January 9, 1919. She married Robert Totty in Mangum, Oklahoma on December 1, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1998. She was a graduate of Isabel Powell Beauty College and owned and operated a beauty salon in Abernathy for many years. Helen also belonged to the Lubbock Chapter of ABW, Rebekah Lodge and First Baptist Church in Abernathy.

She was preceded in death by her son Flavil Totty, her daughter Treva Totty and one granddaughter Jiminey Owens. She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Daugherty of Plainfield, IN and Carol Littlefield Jowett of Flatonia, TX, 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and11 great-great grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to the Abernathy First Baptist Church, 411 Seventh Street, Abernathy, TX 79311. www.abellfuneralhome.com
