Services for Mildred Bell Turner, known all of her life as Mickey, age 100, of Abernathy, TX were held 2:00 pm Monday, July 2, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Abernathy with Rev. Michael O'Donnell, pastor, officiating. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Turner died June 30, 2007 in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born on March 16, 1907 in Southland, TX to W.H. and Annie Robison. She was the fifth child of 13 children. She married Thomas Neff Turner on August 21, 1928 in County Line, TX. They were married for 72 years before he preceded her in death on September 27. 2000.

Also preceding her in death is a daughter, Geneva Turner in 1935 and a son-in-law, Charles Evans in 2003. Survivors include three daughters, Reba Buske and her husband, W.D. of Friona, TX, Silverine Hughes and her husband Bill of Eagles Nest, NM, and Pat Evans of Abernathy, TX, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Services for Thomas Neff Turner, 97, of Abernathy will be at 10:00 am Saturday in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Wilcox, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

He died on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, in Lubbock's Covenant Medical Center.

He was born on March 11, 1903, in Rising Star. He married Mildred "Mickey" Robison on August 21, 1928, in County Line. He was a lifelong Abernathy resident. He was a carpenter and in later years was the manager of Consumers Fuel Association in Abernathy. He was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geneva, in 1935.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Reba Buske of Friona, Silverine Hughes of Eagles Nest, N.M., and Pat Evans of Abernathy; a brother, Bill of Friona; a sister, Fan Bruce of Abernathy; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
