Royce Dean Walker, 62, of Abilene, TX, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013, in a work related accident in Dicken's County, TX. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 21, 2013 at First Central Presbyterian Church in Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 22, 2013, in the First United Methodist Church in Abernathy, TX, followed by graveside service in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.

Royce was born December 19, 1950 to Tella and Irene Walker in Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from Abernathy High School in 1969 and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1973 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Royce went on to have a successful career in Petroleum engineering in Abilene, TX, where he lived for 32 years, as owner and operator of LeClair Operating Company.

Survivors include his mother, Irene Walker, brother, Duane Walker, daughter, Bridgit Walker and a grandson, Dyllan Walker. Royce was preceded in death by his father, Tella Walker and his sister, Gayla Hughes. Contributions in Royce's memory may be to the Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services, 4407 Bee Caves Rd, West Lake Hills, TX 78746
