Dennis Charles Wallace, 70 of Vernon, died on Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Vernon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Toby Castleberry. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Wallace was born Monday, May 25, 1942 in Knox City. He was the son of the late J.C. (Jake) Wallace and the late Louella Sterling Wallace. He married Marilyn Willard on Jan. 1, 1982 in Quanah. He had lived in Vernon since 1974. He attended Munday High School. He received an associate degree and graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy at South Plains College in Plainview. He was a retired law enforcement officer for the Vernon Police Deptment. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and attended the Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Wallace of the home; two sons, William Chris Wallace of Munday and Jeremy Ray Wallace of San Antonio; two daughters, Tracy Lynn Wallace of Munday and Stacy Dawn Nabors of Vernon; one brother, Robin Dale Wallace of Vernon; two sisters, Sonya Sokora and Sherry Reynolds, both of Vernon; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Gendolyn Walker.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Sullivan Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to the family at
