Dorothy Jean Dewey, 69, Borger, died Thursday, March 14, 1996 in her home.

Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Lamesa, she had been a Borger resident for 40 years moving from Odessa. She was a retired hairdresser and a Baptist. She was a volunteer for the Hutchinson County Museum doing quilts, and she also worked for Green Thumb.

She married Thomas Dewey April 10, 1945 in Borger. He preceded her in death in 1982.

Survivors include a son, Bruce E. Dewey of Port Deposit, Md.; two daughters, Anita Phillips of Stinnett; and Paula Thompson of Borger; her mother, Mary Eron McQuire of Olney; two brothers, Archie Jenkins of Olney; Charles Jenkins of Ferndale, Wash.; six sisters, Jimmie Lou Weinert of Weinert; Johnnie Gothard of San Angelo; Peggy Brown of Knox City; Ann Daniels of Tomball; Sue Haley of Deer Park; and Mary Stroble of Houston; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
