Bertie Lee Fields, formerly of Stinnett, passed away in Del City, Oklahoma.

Complete obituary and information will follow.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Stinnett Cemetery, Stinnett, Texas.

STINNETT - Leon Fields, 73, died Friday, July 30, in Dallas.

Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Minton Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Buck Lawley, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery in Stinnett under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Fields was born Nov. 8, 1925, in Wichita Falls. He married Birtie Long in 1945, in Borger. He lived in Stinnett for over 50 years and was the owner of Leon's TV Repair in Stinnett. He retired in 1983 and moved to Talco last year.

He was a First Class Radioman in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Talco.

Survivors include his wife, Birtie, of the home; one son, James Fields of Talco; one daughter, Ann Duesterhaus of Oklahoma City; one brother, Joel Fields of Kermit; three sisters, Betty Tomlinson of Sweetwater, Bernice Pennington of Kermit and Helen Smith of Ohio City, Colo., four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will be staying at 614 S. Oak in Stinnett.

Casket bearers were Hobert Tomlinson, David Pennington, Raymond Smith, Leroy Sargent, Charles Little and Larry Smith.
