Jimmy Ray (Jim) Maddux of Vernon, Texas passed away on December 23, 2005 after a brief illness. He was orn November 4, 1932 in Gavin, Oklahoma, a son of the late Walter F. and Thelma Love Maddux. He was a resident of Vernon since 1959 and a truck driver. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He married Jetty Manar July 1, 1961 in Vernon, Texas. Jim was a good man who was a hard worker and was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Jetty of Vernon and one granddaughter, Shaena Edmonds of Vernon and special friends, Jake and Dorothy Wisdom of Thalia, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, LeeAnn Maddux Edmonds on November 12, 2004. Interment was in Wilbarger Memorial Park.

Jetty Lee Manar Maddux passed away on March 24,2006 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born January 9, 1929 in Farmers Valley, Texas, a daughter of J.A. and Daisy Burkett Manar. She was a housewife. She married Jim Maddux July 1, 1961. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She is survived by one granddaughter, Shaena Gayle Edmonds and three sisters, Maude Draper of Vernon; Betty Strayhorn of Wichita Falls and Carrie Taylor of Cortaro, Arizona and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Maddux and her daughter, LeeAnn Maddux Edmonds on November 12, 2004. Jetty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a loyal servant of the Lord. Services were at 2 p.m. March 27, 2006 at the First Assembly of God Church in Vernon, Texas. Rev. Phillip Weitner conducted the service and Judy Bingham provided the music. Pallbearers were Larry Edmonds, David Strayhorn, Mike Draper, Greg Strayhorn, Steve Draper and Ken Robinson. Interment was in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon, Texas. She had nine siblings: Dan, Josie, Rosie, Carrie, Dixie, Mack, Georgia, Betty and Maudie.
