Rites Held Friday For J. L. Modesette In Rockdale

James Lewis Modesette, 83, brother of John Modesette of Cameron and a retired farmer, resident and land owner of the Rockdale section of Milam County for nearly 60 years died last week. He had been in poor health for some months.
Funeral services were held from the Tracy church Friday, November 27, with Rev. S. Burton Smith of St. John's Methodist church of Rockdale and Rev. Donald Box of Rosebud Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Sharp cemetery.
Survivors are his widow; a son, Lewis Modesette; six daughters, Mrs. Alice of Lubbock, Mrs. Willie Schwarz, Mrs. Mabel Charles, Mrs. Theda Albrecht, Mrs. Edith Ditmar, Mrs. Doris Lawson all of Rockdale, Mrs. Edath Loden of Athens; a brother John Modesette of Cameron, and five sisters, Mrs. Mollie Simmons, Mrs. Lizzie Barber of Rockdale, Mrs. Annie Thompson of Thrall, Mrs. Mattie Godwin of San Angelo, and Mrs. Hattie McDaniel of Ballinger.
