PERRYTON – Funeral services have been announced by three area funeral homes for four young truck drivers who were killed late Wednesday afternoon in a one-car crash east of here.

Killed in the accident, which occurred about 5:30 p.m., were Billy Wayne Matthews, 24, of 106 Indiana in Perryton; Jerry Scott, 23, of 607 S. Ash in Perryton; Gerald Bentley, 23, of Stinnett, and Dale Hopper, 27, of Hartley.

Hopper, a resident of Hartley for five months, had previously lived in Stinnett and attended Stinnett High School. He was born in Oklahoma City.

Surviving [sic] are his wife, Kayla; three daughters and two sons, Robbin, Judy, Tamra, Michael and Shannon, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Hopper of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Bob and Buddy, both of Oklahoma City, Kenneth of Corpus Christi and Donald of Las Vegas, Nev.
