Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. The church will allow a limited number of attendees inside for the funeral service, and it is suggested that a mask be worn and social distancing practiced, in keeping with CDC guidelines. The family will greet visitors and friends on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the funeral home from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.; a mask is required for entry. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Doyle was born December 13, 1937 in Lamesa, Texas to Mary (Riddle) and Claude Fincher. He married Nadine Marcotte in Seminole on January 26, 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a lifelong resident of Seminole.

Doyle was very active in his community. He loved farming and the peanut industry was his passion. He served as president of Western Peanut Growers for many years, and worked for Golden Peanut Company before retiring in 2019. He was awarded Peanut Farmer of the Year in 1993. He was also a former president of Seminole Lions Club.

Doyle’s first job was with Piggly Wiggly; he also worked for Coca Cola and Bennett Motors in Seminole. In the late 60s he worked with the Gaines County Sheriff’s Department. He was a licensed pilot and loved airplanes and flying.

Doyle was also quite a character; he was a jokester and loved life. He enjoyed visiting with people and never knew a stranger; it seemed everyone knew him. People would ask his wife Nadine, “How do you put up with him?” His response was always, “She knows she’s got a good thing!”

Doyle Fincher passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at his residence with his family at his side. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Truitt and Thomas Boyd Fincher. He is survived by his lovely wife Nadine; one son, Delmar Fincher of Tempe, Arizona; one stepson, Raymond McPherson and wife Susan of Seminole; one stepdaughter, Tracy Higginbottom and husband Ted of College Station, Texas; and one brother, Weldon Fincher and wife Stella of Plano, Texas. Doyle was all smiles with his 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that you make a donation to Gaines County Sheriff’s Department.
