Graveside services for Daniel Walter Cocke, 88, formerly of Seminole were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2020 in Seminole at the Gaines County Cemetery, under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.
Daniel passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 in Lubbock.
He was born May 17, 1932 in Stanton to Rev. James Frederick and Lillie Bessie Carlile Cocke. Daniel moved to Seminole in 1942, he was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Seminole. Daniel shared a jail ministry and a “Sunday Gospel Radio Program” with his father for many decades. He was a member of the First Assembly God Church for over 70 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents. His brothers James Fredrick Cocke Jr, Selman Carlile Cocke, Barney Lee Cocke, Judge David Cocke, Kenny Burton Cocke, and sisters Bessie Beatrice Cocke Lovell, Ruby Nell Cocke Scudder.
Daniel is survived by his sons James Walter Cocke of Lubbock, David L. Cocke and Daniel Wayne Cocke both of Knoxville, TN, and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
