DIMMITT - John A. Leinen, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Brown Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Stan Mitchell, minister of Church of Christ in Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery at Stinnett.

Mr. Leinen was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He moved to Dimmitt from Stinnett five months ago.

Survivors include four sons, Don Leinen of Dimmitt, John T. Leinen and Jimmy C. Leinen, both of Borger, and Gene Steel of Houston; two daughters, Sharon Leinen of Dimmitt and Lillie Mae Bentley of Lake City, Colo.; a brother, James Whitson of Hereford; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
