SPEARMAN - Raymond C. Nichols, 63, died Saturday.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Stinnett with the Rev. David Brown, pastor of Christian Center in Amarillo, the Rev. Steve Rogers, pastor of Union Church of Spearman, and the Rev. John Dowden, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stinnett Cemetery by Alexander Funeral Home of Borger.

Mr. Nichols retired in 1979 after working 31 years as teacher, coach and administrator in the Texas school system. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lindfield College at McMinnville, Ore. and a master's degree from Baylor University.

He was associated with Cal Farley's Boys Ranch before moving to Hansford County six years ago. He was caretaker at the headquarters of Turkey Track Ranch of Spearman.

Mr. Nichols was a veteran of World War II. He married Ruth Rice in 1944 at Centralia, Wash. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Suzy Burns of Clarendon, Peggy Nichols of Plano and Patty Nichols of Amarillo, a son, David Nichols of Amarillo, and two grandchildren.
