F.D. "Bud" Yount, 66, 200 Tyler, died at 6:25 p.m. Sunday in Veterans Hospital in Amarillo.
A retired carpenter, he was a native of Rexford, Ks. and a Stinnett resident for 60 years.
He was a veteran of WWII, Army Air Corps in the Phillipines [sic[, and a member of the First Christian Church of Stinnett. He was a longtime member of the Plemons Masonic Lodge. His parents, Fred and Belle Yount, early pioneers of Stinnett, operated a hotel in the early years. Curley's Hardware is located in the former hotel now. He grew up in the hotel. Later, they operated the Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company in Stinnett. Bud raised his three girls at the lumber yard until the death of his father in the 1950's.
He is survived by three daughters, Diana Taylor of Amarillo, Sheilah Walker and Cynthia Swopes, both of Stinnett; six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor, First Baptist Church of Stinnett, officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Stinnett under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
The family will be staying at 318 S. Greenough St. in Stinnett.
