STINNETT - Services for Bob Hubert Sims, 68, a former resident of Stinnett, were at 2 p.m. today in the Victory Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Merrill, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Sims was killed late Friday afternoon in a two-car collision north of Lefors.

Mr. Sims, who was living in Redwood City, Calif., at the time of his death, was killed in a head-on collision about 6:05 p.m. on Highway 273 near Lefors, according to Robert Wilson, a Texas Department of Public Safety officer out of Pampa.

Mr. Sims had been visiting in Stinnett for the past two weeks.

A retired oil field pumper, Mr. Sims was a native of Carrizzo, N.M. He formerly had lived in Stinnett for 30 years before moving to California.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Sims of Stinnett and Bob Sims of Phillips; a brother, Everett of Tehachapi, Calif.; five sisters, Wilma Wood of Merced, Calif., Dorothy Coleman of Lefors, Maxine Slagle of Amarillo, Wanda Sivage of Midland and Edna Ware of Brownfield; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Vic McWilliams, Max Brown, Howard Jones, Harley Groves, Tige Groves, and J.C. Cotner.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rita Lois Sims, 55, former Stinnett resident, are at 2 p.m. Friday from First Baptist Church, Stinnett, with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church of Borger, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. William A. McKee, pastor of the Stinnett Church.

Burial in Sunset Memorial Park, Stinnett, will be directed by Minton Mortuary.

Mrs. Sims died Sunday in Redwood City, Calif., where she had moved three years ago from Stinnett. While living in Stinnett 25 years she served as PTA president, and was a den mother for a Cub Scout Troop. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and was manager of Stinnett swimming pool for five years.

Surviving are the husband, Bob; two sons, Roy Charles of Stinnett, Bob H. of Elkhart, Kan., mother, Mrs. Nellie Wilson of Paducah; brother, Troy Wilson of Howard, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

Casketbearers are Frank Hefner, Max Brown, Howard Jones, Harley Reed, Paul Groves, and Raymond Cummingham.

The family has requested memorials be in the form of donations to the American Cancer Fund.
