Funeral services for Orin Thompson, 79, who was dead on arrival at North Plains Hospital in Borger Sunday morning, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Methodist Church of Stinnett.

The Rev. Olin Butler, pastor of the White Deer Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery of Stinnett by Minton Mortuary.

Mr. Thompson was born in Montague County and had lived n Hutchinson County since 1915. He was a retired rancher and a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel, of the home; sons, Fred of Amarillo, Orin of Stinnett, Roy of Happy, Bob of Guthrie and Marshall of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Williams of Dill Air Force Base, Calif.; brothers, Emmett of Quanah and Fred of Ada, Okla.; sisters, Mrs. Willie Boyett of McLean and Mrs. Maude Prefountain of Ada; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Orin Thompson, 79, of Stinnett, are at 2:30 p.m. today from Stinnett High School Auditorium.

The pioneer Stinnett man died Sunday morning. He was a retired rancher and a member of the Methodist Church.

Casketbearers are Walter Christian, Bill Burton, Jack Hart, Rob Groves, Marshall Cator and Pete Cator.

Surviving are his wife, Hazel, of the home; five sons, a daughter, two brothers, two sisters, and 11 grandchildren.

STINNETT - Hazel Groves Thompson, 105, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, in Borger.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Stinnett Church of Christ with Zeb Sailors officiating. Burial will be in Stinnett Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Thompson was born Dec. 17, 1900, in Collingsworth County. She was a teacher and taught at Groves, Stinnett and Spearman. She was a member of Stinnett Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Orin Thompson, on Dec. 29, 1968; a son, Orin Thompson, in 1974; and a brother, Paul Groves, in 2006.

Survivors include a daughter, Pearl Marie Williams of Stinnett; four sons, Fred Thompson of Amarillo, Bob Thompson of McLean, Roy "Tuffy" Thompson of Happy and Marshall Thompson of Edmond, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Frank Morton, Rob Groves, Buzz Brittain, Jack Coiner, Roy Don Thompson, Roy Dee Thompson, Tybo Thompson and Bill Thompson.

The body will be available for viewing today and Tuesday until service time at Brown Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel in Stinnett.
