Funeral services for Tom Trosper, 67, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church in Dumas with Rev. Jake Armstrong, pastor, and John Green, deacon, officiating.

Burial was at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett under the direction of Morris Funeral Home.

He lived in Etter 40 years and was a shift supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Company. He retired in 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of the home; two sons, James Edward of Pampa, Ronald Dean of San Francisco; three brothers, Oscar of Denver, Frank of Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Nell Parrott of Tulare, Calif., Frank Killins of Wellington; one half brother, Ben Moody of Calif.; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

DUMAS - Kathleen "Kat" Trosper, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, in Dallas.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronald Trosper, the Rev. Billy Snider and the Rev. Brad Foster officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Kathleen "Kat" Trosper was born July 19, 1923, in Novice to Henry and Lora Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Tom" Trosper, on April 13, 1987. On Jan. 24, 1990, she married Oscar Trosper in Trinidad, Colo. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Moore and Hutchinson counties since 1942. She had recently moved to Kaufman to be near family.

Kat was always ready to lend a hand and take charge in any crisis. She was the family caregiver for her family and her husband's family. She was dependable and family and friends can always recall a time when she was there to help out. She was a faithful Christian and believed in doing for others. Kat was a blessing to be around and is going to be missed by all her family and friends.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Margaret; a stepdaughter, Cheryl; her parents; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include her husband, Oscar; two sons, Jim Trosper of Picayune, Miss., and Ron Trosper of Kaufman; a stepdaughter, Sue McClary of Dumas; two stepsons, Paul Trosper of Amarillo and Gary Trosper of Arkansas; two sisters, Sue Siegler of Matador and Betty Blankenship of Stinnett; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; an aunt; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from all over the United States.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
