CISCO- Dorothy Grace Laird, 73, of Cisco passed away January 6, 2009, in Abilene.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home. Visitation was held 5-7:00 PM Friday at Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel.
Dorothy was born June 25, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois to Emery Gevichs and Evelyn Jung. She married William Laird March 23, 1968 in Yuma, Arizona. She was a sign language Interpreter for the Sheriff's Department in California. After moving to Cisco, she was employed by the Cisco ISD in the Food Service. Dorothy was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William, of Cisco, three sons, Richard Laird of Weatherford, Doug Noice and wife, Peggy, of Clyde, and Bob Cox and wife, Paula, of Anson; two daughters,Vicki Houge of Abilene, Tammy Harris and friend, Darwin Archer of Cisco; sister, Diane Dyer of Los Angeles; 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Betsy Laird, preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
