Peggy Darlene Davis Westberry, 71, passed away June 3, 2017 at her home in Borger,Texas. Her family surrounded her, and her husband knelt by her side as she took her last breath. She died with us all loving her ‘til she left this earth and went to heaven.

Peggy was born in Dalhart, Texas to Charles Henry Davis and his wife, Grace Marie Chittenden Davis on February 3, 1946. She married Roger Dean Westberry on October 17, 1979 in Dumas, Texas. She went to Clarendon College in Pampa,Texas and received her degree in Nutrition. She was first and foremost a homemaker, although she worked in health care for many years.

Peggy is preceded in death by everyone in her childhood, and by one daughter, Kara Terry Parkhurst, for whom she grieved deeply.

It’s not enough just to say her name. Our beloved was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a force of nature-the heartbeat of all of our families. She forgave everyone, loved passionately and adored Jesus. She could sing like an angel. She would sing with her children, to her husband- sweet love songs, and to Jesus with tears of devotion and love in her eyes. If anyone had a sorrow, well, she had it too. If anyone was happy, she was happy with them.

She and Roger loved having friends over for dinner- to fellowship and share. They both loved to road trip, and when they had their motorcycle, all the grandchildren were impressed!

These few words are only small moments in a lifetime of beauty. How do you write about a woman like her? It’s like trying to explain the sky to someone who is blind.
She will be deeply mourned, as the world has lost one of its shining lights.

Peggy and her husband, best friend and life mate, Roger Dean Westberry, had two favorite love songs- “Let’s Take the Long Way Around the World,” and “Dream On.” They raised three children together- Janice Downs, William Curry, and Darlene Polizzi.

You will see from one of her last statements that love was the way of life for her. She said “I love you all, but I am tired now. “I am ready to be with Jesus”.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Roger Dean Westberry; daughter Janice Woolam and husband Stan; son William Curry and wife Marci-Ann, and daughter Darlene Polizzi and husband Patrick. Peggy has 15 grandkids and 19 great-grandkids.

She has two siblings left through marriage- Betty Carty, and Morris Westberry.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 5 at Burgin Funeral Home, 200 S. McGee.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 6 at Cornerstone Church, 1083 Coronado Circle.
