Floyd CLOSE, 73, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1992.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Holt Cemetery with the Rev. Kyle Henderson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Mr. CLOSE, born in Hansford County, was a longtime resident of Spearman. He married Allene GIPSON in 1945 at Guymon, Okla. Mr. CLOSE was a retired farmer and rancher. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. CLOSE also served in the Eighth Air Force from 1941 to 1945. He was a B-17 pilot in the 91st bomb group, flying 48 missions over Germany. He was released as a major.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sharon COOK and D'Anda WIDENER, both of Spearman; a sister, Vivian HURST of Stroud, Okla.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family request memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland, Spearman 79081 or to a favorite charity.
