John Davis Dickson married Sarah Angelina Williams Rhudyard in 1881 in Hill County, Texas. She was the widow of David Ellis Rhudyard, who died in Bell County on July 28, 1878. She had two children, a boy, Isum Rufus Rhudyard, born June 10, 1874, and a girl, Margaret Clara "Maggie" Rhudyard, botn on November 28, 1876. Maggie later married John Sterling.
To Davis Dickson and his wife Sarah were born five children. Twins, a boy and a girl, were born on November 20, 1882, in Hill County and died the follow years, Minnie Ola Dickson was born on January 4, 1884, in Arkansas; Lonnie Albert Dickson was born May 1, 1887, in Johnson County, Texas; and Laura Maudie Dickson was born on Feb. 15, 1889, also in Johnson County. Minnie later married Frank Kelly and Maudies married Vern Bell Armstrong.
