SPEARMAN - Edgar Francis Fite, 71, of 227 Dressen, died Sunday afternoon at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo following an illness of three days.

Mr. Fite was born in Hohenwald, Tenn., and had lived in Spearman since 1933. A retired farmer, Mr. Fite was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include his wife, Viola; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Sanders of Spearman; sisters, Mrs. Pearl Lomax of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Mrs. Augusta Churchwell of Hohenwald, Tenn., and two grandchildren.

SPEARMAN - Funeral services for Viola F. Fite, 77, were at 10:30 a.m. today in the Church of Christ, with Gaylord Cook, minister, officiating.

Burial was in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fite died Tuesday in Perryton.

Mrs. Fite was born in Luther, Okla. She moved to the Spearman area in 1930. She married Edgar Fite in 1933 in Spearman. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Hellen Sanders of Spearman; three brothers, Charlie Jackson of Moore, Okla. and C.A. Jackson and Dee Jackson, both of Spearman; two sisters, Bessie Francis of Mangum, Okla., and Marie Crawford of Spearman; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
