FORT WORTH - Dr. Joseph Newton Holt, 91, died Monday, May 2, 2005.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Holt Cemetery in Hutchinson County by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Dr. Holt was born Aug. 29, 1913, in the Holt Community, Hutchinson County. He was a longtime resident of Dallas before moving to Fort Worth.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, O.C. and Fred Holt; and two sisters, Maudie Marshalland Myrle Farrington.

Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Holt Norton and Barbara Sue Holt Beyer; a brother, Nolan Holt of Spearman; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his wonderful friend, Mrs. Deanie Valder.

The family suggests memorials be to Holt Cemetery Association, 906 S. Bernice St., Spearman, TX 79081; or Presbyterian Night Shelter, 1500 Presidio St., Fort Worth, TX 76102.
