SPEARMAN - Cecil "Jake" Kirk, 89, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, in Stratford.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church at Stinnett with the Rev. Steve Gaines officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mr. Kirk was born in Comanche County. After attending the University of Texas and studying drama at Columbia College in Chicago, he married Jo Tevebaugh in 1936 at Spearman and moved to Albuquerque, N.M. He later worked as a range rider on the Acoma Indian Reservation in Grants, N.M., moved to Phillips, where he worked for Phillips Petroleum Company, and then returned to Holt, where he farmed. He was a member of First United Methodist Church at Stinnett.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janet Reger of Spearman and Karen Fiedler of Colorado City, Colo.; a sister, Babe Pendergraft of Spearman; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Coldwater Manor Activity Fund, c/o Coldwater Manor, 1111 Beaver Road, Stratford, TX 79084.

SPEARMAN - Josephine "Jo" Kirk, 87, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004.

Services will be at 10 a.m. in First United Methodist Church in Stinnett with the Rev. Steve Gaines officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kirk was born Sept. 4, 1916, in Osage County, Okla. She had lived in the area since 1942, moving from Phillips.

She married C.W. "Jake" Kirk on Oct. 10, 1936, in Spearman.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Stinnett. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet Kirk Reger and husband, Travis, of Spearman and Karen Kirk Fiedler and husband, Bruce, of Colorado City, Colo.; a sister, Edith McCain of Guthrie, Okla.; four grandchildren, Debra Schwarz and husband, Bob, of Silver Lake, Kan., Dale Reger and wife, Kimberly, of Oklahoma City, Jennifer Fiedler of San Francisco, Mark Fiedler of Portland, Ore.; and three great-grandchildren, David Reger and Morgan Reger, both of Oklahoma City and Cole Schwarz of Silver Lake.
