SPEARMAN - Owen PENDERGRAFT, 80, died Monday, March 1, 1993.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Lavern Draper, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Mr. PENDERGRAFT, born in Kiowa, Kansas, moved to the Spearman area in 1929. He married Olive "Babe" KIRK in 1933 at Spearman. He was a farmer and rancher and was a retired operator for Phillips Petroleum.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Betty Ruth GAINES of Spearman; three granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.

SPEARMAN — Olive "Babe" Kirk Pendergraft, 98, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Christian Church, Spearman, with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mrs. Pendergraft was born March 2, 1913, in Comanche. She attended Holt School, Spearman Schools and was a 1932 graduate of Goodwell High School. She attended Panhandle State University. She married Owen Kenneth Pendergraft on Aug. 28, 1933, in the J.R. Kirk family home.

Mrs. Pendergraft was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church in Spearman, Holt Home Demonstration Club and was Ms. Hansford Manor of 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Pendergraft, and a son, James Beck.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Gaines and husband Richard of Spearman; three granddaughters, Connie Tindal and husband Mark of Wichita, Kan., Glenda Louise Close and Peggy Jo Varnon and husband Allen, all of Spearman; seven great-grandchildren, Shawna Brinson and husband Nate of St. Louis, Mo., Byron Wright of Kansas City, Kan., Freddie Tucker and wife Becky of Arlington, Justin Tucker and wife Anna of Borger, Jason Varnon and wife Donia of Spearman, Eric Varnon and wife Leslie of Fort Worth and Richard Varnon and wife Claire of Weatherford; nine great-great-grandchildren, Jordan and Lynzey Tucker, Austin, Colton and Rylan Tucker, Taylor and Landrie Varnon, and Noah and Cooper Varnon; three nieces, Janet Reger of Spearman, Karen Fiedler of Beaverville, Ore., and Nancee Rush of Bastrop; and one nephew, W.L. Beck of Vacaville, Calif.

The family suggests memorials be to First Christian Church, P.O. Box 637, Spearman, TX 79081; or Holt Cemetery, 10239 FM 281, Spearman TX 79081.
