Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Mr. Trindle was born June 14, 1922, in Kingfisher County, Okla. John attended Park rural school and graduated from Kingfisher High School in 1940. He entered the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1942 and served until 1946. That fall, he moved to McKibben, 10 miles southwest of Spearman to plant wheat on land purchased from First State Bank of Booker. John spent the winter of 1946 in Booker making chisel plows at the Goode Plow Co. While there, he met Virginia Fluitt, and they married May 3, 1947. John was presented the 1940 Junior Master Farmer Award by the governor of Oklahoma.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a past board member of Hansford County ASCS, Hansford Hospital, Perryton Equity Exchange and First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Trindle; a daughter, Jan Holt and husband Larry of Spearman; a sister, Ruth Mccully of Kingfisher; three granddaughters, Josie Hudson and husband Logan of Miami, Texas, Abbe Swearengen and husband Chad of Amarillo and Betsy Kalisiak and husband Shad of Dalhart; three grandsons, John Holt and wife Elissa and David Holt, all of Spearman, and Nathan Steger and wife Jessica of Italy; and six great-grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel and Anna Hudson of Miami, Genevieve and Liliana Holt, both of Spearman, and Connor Swearengen of Amarillo.
