Services for Frank Chapple Jr., 92, of Slaton will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 in Slaton's Hearts Together Church of Christ with Curtis Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Frank was born May 11, 1919 in Christoval, Texas. He passed from this life March 28, 2012. Frank grew up and graduated from Christoval High School in 1937. He married Edith McCrohan on May 11, 1940 in San Angelo. She preceded him in death on April 19, 2001. They moved to Slaton in 1950. Frank was an Army veteran of WWII. He retired as a conductor for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1979 after 37 years. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, F.E. and D. Lula Chapple; brother, H.A. Chapple; sisters, Pauline Nelson, Sue McBurnett and Martha Wingfield. His survivors include his daughter, Dee Walton and husband Charles of Slaton; sons, Dr. Frank Chapple, III and wife, Marilyn of Keller and Hoby Chapple and wife, Marilyn of Austin; sister, Sarah Jarrett of Hobbs, N.M.; along with six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Services for Edith Chapple, 81, of Slaton will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Westside Church of Christ with Jack Gordon officiating.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

She died Thursday, April 19, 2001.

She was born Oct. 5, 1919, in San Angelo and graduated from San Angelo Lake View High School in 1937. She married F.E. Chapple Jr. on May 11, 1940, in San Angelo. They moved to Slaton in 1950. She and her husband were named "Tigerette Sports Fans of the Year" for 1974, 1975 and 1976. She was a homemaker and a lifelong Catholic.
