STINNETT - Mrs. Mary Yake, 69, of Yake Ranch, Stinnett, died at approximately 4 a.m. today in St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo.

Services are pending with Alexander Funeral Directors.

A native of Clayton, N.M., she moved to the Hutchinson County area in 1926 from Texline. She was a rancher, and ran her ranching business until her death.

Mrs. Yake was a member of a pioneer family that the Sanford-Yake area at Lake Meredith was named after.

She was a member of the Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, American Hereford Breeders Association, and Victory Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry.

Survivors include three sons, Bill, Bud, and Cal, all of Stinnett; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Gentry, Mrs. Louise Sanders and Mrs. Marsha Stout, all of Stinnett, and Mrs. Margie Lewis of Amarillo; two sisters, Mrs. Lavern McFarren of Stinnett, and Mrs. Lucy Strader of Dumas; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will be staying at the ranch headquarters.
