Borger News Herald - June 17, 1963

Charles Russell Adcock, 69, an employee of Santa Fe Railway, died Sunday at 12:20 a.m. in North Plains Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Bunavista Methodist Church with Rev. Milton Jochetz officiating.

Adcock, who lived at 1009 N. Hedgecoke, is survived by the widow, Ada; three sons, Russell of Dallas, Hugh of Amarillo and Marion of the US Army in Germany; four daughters, Mrs. Irene Stone of Largo, Fla., Mrs. Mildred Heckendorf of Irving, Helen Adcock of Raton, N.M., Naomi Martin of San Salemo, Calif.

A stepdaughter, Mrs. James Moore of Borger, a stepson, James H. Watson of Wooster, Ohio, a sister, Mrs. Bertha Tracy of Hamilton, Mo., 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home.

Ada M. Adcock, 93, Borger, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1993 in Borger Nursing Center.

Services are pending with Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Berlin, Okla., she lived in Quanah until 1921, moved to Amarillo where she lived until 1947 when she moved to Borger. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Adcock in in 1963, and a granddaughter, Lanita Moore in 1970.

Survivors include a son, James Watson of Wooster, Ohio, a daughter, Billie Moore of Borger, three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be staying at 1305 Potter.
