Funeral services for Mark Wayne Ashby, 23, of Fritch were at 2 p.m. today in the First Southern Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Miller, pastor of First Baptist Church in Borger, officiating.
He died Friday in a car-train crash in Hooker, Okla.
He was born Feb. 6, 1966 in Borger, and had been a Fritch resident for 13 years. He attended the Fritch schools, and grauated [sic] from Sanford-Fritch High School in 1984. He was employed by Northwest Texas Electrical Company.
Survivors include his parents, Linda Ashby of Fritch; Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Ashby of Rio Rancho, N.M.; two brothers, Cody and George, both of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and grandmother, Marene Ashby of Dumas.
Pallbearers were Jay Baird, Scott Cooper, David Luman, Bodie Goodspeed, Cavett Ashby, Gary Turner, and Kelly Williams.
Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
