BORGER - John Cecil Baber, 90, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Chapel of Borger with the Rev. Ricky Griffin, pastor of First Baptist Church of Sanford, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Baber was born Oct. 24, 1911, in Crawford County, Kan. He retired as safety superintendent at the Plains Plant for Phillips Petroleum Co.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; four daughters, Kathleen Moses of Los Fresnos, Janice Larry of McKinney, Lea Ellen Minton of Borger and Lorie Bradshaw of Allen; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at 407 Baylor in Borger.

BORGER - Doris Wheeler Baber, 83, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Grace Fellowship Church with the Rev. Rickey Griffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Baber was born July 19, 1919, in Hiattville, Kan. She married John C. Baber on Aug. 5, 1936, in Fort Scott, Kan. She was a resident of Fritch for 38 years. After living in Abilene for a short while, she moved back to Borger where she lived at the time of her death.

While living in Borger, she attended First Baptist Church and Grace Fellowship Church. A lover of children, she helped her husband with Kids, Inc. basketball and the Small Fry Fishing Tournament. She also helped to organize the Golden Eagles.

Mrs. Baber taught Sunday school for many years. She was best known for her sweet spirit and the love she showed her family and friends, as well as her wonderful sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Horace and Elizabeth Wheeler; and her brother, Fay Wheeler.

Survivors include four daughters, Kathleen Moses and husband, Jim, of Los Fresnos, Janice Larry of McKinney, Lea Ellen Minton and husband, Jake, of Borger and Lorie Bradshaw and husband, Roger, of Allen; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lorene Wheeler of Nepler, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Bryan Tate, Dennis John Humble, Clint Brock, Jared Brock, Larry Hulsey, Mark Milum, Kevin Chittenden and Mark Jones. Honorary casket bearers will be the Robert Coffman family.

The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or Grace Fellowship Church of Borger.

The family will be at 407 Baylor St.
