BORGER - Jack C. Balch, 80, of Borger, retired building contractor, died at 5:40 p.m. Sunday in Thurmon's Convalescent Home. He had been in Amarillo 2 1/2 years.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church in Borger. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park in Borger with arrangements by Minton Mortuary.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Howard Valentine of Amarillo and Mrs. E.L. Carroll of Borger, and four grandchildren.
Mr. Balch had been a Borger resident since 1929.

Final rites for Mrs. Lucy Balch, 60, resident of Borger since 1926 are to be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday from the First Presbyterian Church, where she was a charter member.
Mrs. Balch and her husband came to Borger from Wisconsin. He was a building contractor until ill health forced his retirement. They resided at 101 Dolomita.
Mrs. Balch was employed by Phillips Chemical Company at the Plains Plant for 15 years and worked in the laboratory until retirement in August, 1961.
The Rev. James G. Glenn, pastor will officiate at the funeral services. Burial in Westlawn Memorial Park will be under direction of Minton Mortuary.
Survivors include her husband, Jack C. Balch; two daughters Mrs. Elmer Carroll, of Borger, Mrs. Howard Valentine, Amarillo; and four grandchildren.
