George Truman Banta, 61, Borger, died Saturday, April 22, 1995 in High Plains Baptist Hospital in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gardner Street Church of Christ with Mr. Richard Kasko, minister, officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

A native of Wetumka, Okla., he had been a Borger resident since 1951. He was a retired supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Company. He graduated from Wetumka High School in 1951, and was a member of Gardner Street Church of Christ.

He married Adell Cossey Nov. 13, 1951, in Holdenville, Okla.

He was preceded in death by three granddaughters, Chandra, Taneena, and Tareena Burton.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerald Banta of Borger; two daughters, Terri Prock of Borger; and Patricia Burton of Woodward, Okla.; his mother, Thelma Banta of Wetumka, Okla.; three brothers, Newell Banta of Orlando, Fla.; Marvin Banta of Enid, Okla.; and Milton Banta of Wetumka, Okla.; two sisters, Wanda Dooley of Harrah, Okla.; and Marie Herzog of Wetumka, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
