Newton J. Beals, 81, of 1008 Meredith in Borger, died at 12:15 a.m. in High Plains Hospital in Amarillo.

The retired owner of Beals Automotive Service, he was a native of Stewardson, Illinois, and a Borger resident for 55 years. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife - Mildred; two daughters - Rose Marie Ballman of Borger and Lawanda Wagoner of Houston; one brother - Oval Beals of Sadorus, Illinois; four sisters - Grace Renshaw, Ruby Friese and Marie Rinker all of Stewardson, Illinois and Millie Beals of Shumway, Illinois. He had six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Uhles Officiating.

Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ed Brown and Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be David Wagner, Chuck Ballman, Jr., Steve Wagner, Mark Wagner, Clay Ballman and David Walther.
