BORGER - Bernice Wilma Bergen, 97, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Andrew United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ted Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mrs. Bergen was born Feb. 4, 1912, in Farry community, Okla., to Howard and Stella Walker. She married Dan E. Bergen on Aug. 7, 1932, in Alva, Okla. Bernice was a charter member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. She was a master quilter with Hutchinson County Museum.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan E. Bergen, in 1991; a grandson, James Romero Jr., in 2004; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Stella Hodges of San Angelo and Wilma Romero of Borger; six grandchildren, Daniel Romero and wife Pam of Loveland, Colo., Cynthia Myrick and husband Steve of Aurora, Colo., Philipe Romero and wife Amanda of Windsor, Colo., Kara Camp and husband John of Tyler and Melissa Crump and husband Steve of Plains; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be John Camp, Dan Romero, Phil Romero, Daniel Romero and Steve Crump.

The family suggests memorials be to St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 100 Amaryllis St., Borger, TX 79007; or a favorite charity.
