Jerry P. Blinker, 79, died Tuesday night at Golden Plains Community Hospital.

Services are pending with Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

He was a resident of Borger since 1948 and was retired. He was a former manager of Hub Clothiers.

He was born in Morovia, Czechoslovakia, and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and a member of the Lions and Elks.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; one son, Jerry of Victoria; two daughters, Jerealine Welch of Liberal, Ks., and Mary Helen Garrison, Amarillo; two sisters, Jeri Jubes of Dallas and Frances Krenek, Shiner; six grandchildren.

LIBERAL, Kan. - Helen J. Blinker, 97, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004.

Vigil was at 7 p.m. Thursday in St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Rex Petty and the Rev. Patrick Keyes officiating. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the church. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Borger, Texas. Arrangements are by Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blinker was born Nov. 11, 1907, in Yoakum, Texas, the daughter of August and Philomena (Pechacek) Marek. She lived in Borger from 1948 to 2000, when she moved to Liberal. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal. She was a former member of St. John's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Garden Club Extension Club and Ceramic Club, all of Borger. On July 22, 1929, she married Jerry P. Blinker at Shiner, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Blinker of Liberal; two daughters, Jere Welch and husband, Vernon, of Liberal and Mary Garrison and husband, Slim, of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Gussie Ballinger of Dallas; six grandchildren, Barbara Hood, Mechille Bertucci, Matt Garrison, Eric Welch, Chris Welch and Amder Welch; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Hood and Isabel Bertucci.

The family suggests memorials be to St. Anthony Catholic Church Building Fund and may be sent to the funeral home, 1212 W. Second Ave., Liberal, KS 67901.
