BORGER - Funeral arrangements for C.B. "Chet" Bostick, 58, who died Thursday of injuries suffered Feb. 23, 1970, at the Philtex Plant near Borger, will be announced by Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.
Mr. Bostick, whose residence was 222 Rigdon in Borger, died at the Hillhaven Convalescent Center in Amarillo.
He had been overcome by escaping hydrogen sulphide fumes while repairing a pipeline on the flare system used to burn waste products at the Philtex Plant.
His coworker, W.H. Chisum, overcome by fumes at the same time, recovered a short time later in a Borger hospital.
Mr. Bostick was born in Stephenville and had been a resident of Borger and a mechanic for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 22 years.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marie; three sons, Carroll D. of Borger, James C. of 4408 Sherwood in Amarillo and Richard M. of Bell Cave, La.; a daughter, Mrs. Harvey W. Morris of College Station; five brothers, Den and G.Y. of El Paso, Albert R. of Olton, Sercy of Stephenville and Earl of Fort Worth; three sisters, Mrs. F.M. Holland and Mrs. W.A. Sharp, both of Olton, and Mrs. H.E. Newman of Hart; and eight grandchildren.
