William Bublitz, 75, of 209 Cottonwood in Borger died Sunday, July 3, 1988 at St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo.

Funeral services are pending with Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Bublitz was a retired quality control inspector at the Phillips Philblack Plant. He was a native of Milwaukee, Wisc., and a Borger resident for many years.

He served as a staff sgt. in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Boots and Calico Square Dance Club, Tri-City Community Concert Association and a member of the Borger Optimist Club. He also delivered Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Opportunity Center and Toastmasters Club.

Survivors include his wife Ruby, of the home; a daughter, Pat Deason of Edmond; a son, James D. Bales of Lubbock; a sister, Mr. Schlueter of Tucson, Ariz.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
