John ''Bill'' William Casida, 89, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015.

Graveside service will be held 10 am Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Westlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Conny Moore, officiating. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. His memory may be honored with a gift to the Alzheimer's Association, 415 West 8th Ave. 300 Amarillo, Texas, 79101.

Bill was born October 6, 1926 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Edith H. (Gurney) and Alfred Arthur Casida. He was a member of Bunavista Baptist Church. He married Wanda Faye Tipton on July 4, 1952 in Borger. Bill proudly served in the United States Navy. He received his Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Science in Paleontology from Oklahoma City University. Bill was a well site geologist for Phillips. He enjoyed working, traveling, fishing and camping. However, family vacations were what he loved most.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, David Casida, Sr.; and grandson, Chad Casida.

Survivors include his son, Tom Casida and wife Suzie of Borger; four grandchildren, Jeremy and Kyla, David, Jr. and Brandy, Gayla and Ernest, Amy; six great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and one niece and nephew.
