Leo H. Childress, Sr., 55, of No 7 New Mechanic in Phillips, died Wednesday at home.

A native of Post, he was a retired employee of Phillips Petroleum Company and a resident of Phillips for 38 years.

He was an army veteran of World War II, receiving the Bronze Star, the Silver Service Star, and the E.A.M.E. Service ribbon from France.
He was also a member of Masonic Staked Plain Lodge No. 598, Big Springs AF and AM Lodge and of Keeler Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Alexander Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Rue Scott, pastor of Keeler Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under Alexander Funeral Directors.

Survivors include his wife, Sennie; one son, Leo H. Childress, Jr. of Houston; one daughter, Lajuanna Sue Zimmerman of Portland, Ore.; one foster son, Bill D. Moody of Oklahoma; four brothers, Billy J. Childress of Houston, Roy Childress of Santa Monica, Calif., John D. Childress of Anchorage, Alaska and Floyd R. Childress of Monahans; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Fisher of Amarillo, and Mrs. Lois B. Hickman of Denton and ten grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be member of the Isom Masonic Lodge No. 1242. Graveside services will be under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge No. 1242.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Phillips Engineering Department of Phillips Petroleum Company.
