W. E. "Bill" Chowins, 86, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel of Borger with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Chowins served in the Army during World War II in England, Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe. He married Dorothy Nell Davis on Nov. 15, 1947, in Borger.

Survivors include his wife; a son, William Chowins of Borger; three sisters, Margaret Pangle of Wetumka, Okla., Rose Burnie of Beaumont and Elizabeth Shutts of Palo Alto, Calif.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

The family will be staying at 1003 Bowman and 1006 Jackson in Borger.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176.
