Mrs. Pattie Grace Tucker, 31, of 910 S. Harvey in Borger was fatally injured late Thursday afternoon when the car she was driving veered from the road, out of control and overturned on the Fritch Highway northeast of Amarillo.
She was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Anthony's Hospital shortly after 4:30 p.m.
Her two-year old son, Clifford, survived the one-car accident with only minor cuts and bruises, hospital attendents [sic] reported. He was released following the accident.
The accident occurred 15 miles north of Amarillo in a hilly area. According to patrol officers, Mrs. Tucker's car went off the road, spun around and overturned in a depression.
The late model sedan was totally demolished.
Mrs. Tucker is the wife of Aubrey Tucker, and was enroute to Borger when the accident occurred.
She was born on March 25, 1930 in Hereford.
Survivors include the husband, the son, Aubrey Clifford Tucker Jr., two brothers, Gene Southall of Amarillo and John Southall of El Paso; three sisters, Mrs. Pete Braxton, of Black, Mrs. Benthal Miller of Clovis, New Mexico; and Anna Jo Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and the parents, Mr. and Mrs. P.O. Southall, Friona.
Mrs. Tucker was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Association of University Women.
Funeral services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Amos Meador, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Mortuary.
