*Obituary for John
Funeral services for John N. Cooper, 59, of 122 First Street in Phillips, were held at 2 p.m. today from Ed Brown & Sons Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Assisting will be Jim York, minister of the Gruver Church of Christ.

Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Ed Brown & Sons Funeral Directors.

Cooper died at 12:05 p.m. Saturday at North Plains Hospital.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, four brothers, four sisters, and eight grandchildren.

Casketbearers were Leon Miles, Milo Miles, Terrell Cooper, Charles Miles, James Shirley, Glen Wiseman.

DUMAS - Grace Cooper Pierson, 79, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 1996 in Dumas Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Mr. Jim York, minister of the Sunray Church of Christ, officiating, assisted by Mr. Willard Simmons, Dumas.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Borger by Morrison Funeral Directors.

A native of Erick, Okla., she had been a Dumas resident since 1982 and was a former Borger resident. She was a retired nurse and worked at the hospital in Borger for more than 20 years. She was a member of the 14th Street Church of Christ in Dumas.

She married Bob Pierson on Sept. 24, 1977 at Dumas.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John N. Cooper in 1972.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Billie Woolsey of Amarillo; Mary York of Sunray; and Glenda Simmons of Dumas; a brother, Buster Chadwell of Amarillo; a sister, Dena Hill of Tecumseh, Okla.; 9 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

The family will be staying at 102 Ted Street in Dumas.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, 79029 or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.
