Evan C. "Pete" Cowan, 81, 300 S. Longwood, Fritch, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday in Golden Plains Community Hospital.
An equipment operator for Phillips Petroleum Company, he was a native of McCullough County, Texas, and a Fritch resident for 53 years.
He was a member of Fritch Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Henryetta Cowan of the home; one son, Arvin Cowan of Fritch; a daughter, Linda Monnett of Fort Worth; three brothers, Randale Cowan of Fritch, Bill and Hubert Cowan of Amarillo; five sisters, Ethel Phillips of Liberal, Ks., Cora Lee Deason and Viola Foster, both of Borger; Aileen Miller of Breckenridge, and Louise Granger of Amarillo; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fritch Church of Christ with Mr. John Kimbrough, minister, Fritch Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Pallbearers will be Bob Snow, Glen Compton, Jim Hudson, Mark Price, Oscar Arterbury.
