Obituary
BORGER - Beale Barnard Denton, 79, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.

Beale passed away surrounded by his wife, Betty, children and grandchildren after his lengthy battle with lung cancer. He was born Oct. 20, 1927, as the first resident of Crane, two months premature in the back of a drug store. His father gave him CPR, built him a homemade incubator and gave him his love to survive and thrive these 79 years. He made his own home in Borger after marrying Betty Ann Grant, and they lived there for 54 years. They lived in Amarillo briefly while treating his cancer.

Beale was the ultimate loving husband to his wife for 57 years, and wonderful father to his six children, 36 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, gentle pastor of Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Amarillo for 33 years and dedicated chemical engineer for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1948. He and his wife were very active in the community with organizations such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Stamp Club, Genealogy, Grandmother's Club, Friends of the Library and Tri-Ad, among many others. His life was full of grace and he blessed all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. (Jesse Monroe) and Mary Elizabeth III (Barton) Denton; a sister, Geneva Waucel Denton Fowler and husband Waller Fowler; and two grandchildren, Lloyd Allen Hare III, and Kelly Michelle Denton.

Survivors include his wife Betty Ann Denton; a brother, Patrick Welland Denton of Columbia, Tenn.; his children, Deborah Ann Madden and husband Eddy of Odessa, Daniel Beale Denton and wife Margaret of Amarillo, David Patrick Denton and wife Karin of Angleton, Karen Ethel Wright and husband Tim of San Antonio, Mary Elizabeth IV Hare and husband "Pete" Lloyd Allen Jr. of Panhandle and Dollie Waucel Miller and husband Todd of Amarillo; 36 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends and family members who cherish our memories of him.

The family suggests memorials be in the form of love letters to our Mother, Betty Ann Denton.

The family will be gathering at the home of Todd and Dollie Miller for those wishing to contact them.

Viewing will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., and from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Borger.
