FRITCH- Winfred Glenn Downs, 50, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997 in Golden Plains Community Hospital of Borger.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, in First Southern Baptist Church with Mr. Larry Heidelberg of Borger officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Kerry Finley, pastor of Victory Baptist Church of Stinnett. Services are under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.

Mr. Downs was born in Wellington and had been a Fritch resident for eight years, moving there from Borger. He was a cowboy and a member of the Borger Church of Christ. He married Carol Davis on Feb. 21, 1968 in Pampa. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and a son.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Carol Downs of the home; three sons, Robert David Rigo of Spokane, Wash., Daniel O. Rigo and Shane Downs, both of Fritch; two daughters, Deanna Poe Fritch and Elaine Maupin of Cordell, Okla.; his mother, Gladys Downs of Borger; one brother, J.R. Downs of Kentucky; one sister, Janice Newman of Borger; and 14 grandchildren.
