*Obituary

Andrianna "Andy" Klentos Dugan, a longtime Dallas resident, passed away August 1, 2015. She was a kind, gentle, and caring person who was much loved by those who knew her. Born in Oklahoma City, OK, she was a lifetime member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church located there. Andy loved growing up in the small town of Wewoka, OK. She was a proud graduate of Wewoka High School and cherished the many lifelong friendships that she cultivated there. Andy was preceded in death by her parents Efthemia and John Klentos. Both of Andy’s parents were born in Greece and immigrated to the United States, and she was very proud of her Greek heritage. She was very grateful for the values that her parents passed on to her – of honesty, hard work, integrity and a belief in the value of education. After graduating from The University of Oklahoma with a business degree, she moved to Dallas where she met her husband, Jack Dugan, with whom she recently celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. She was blessed to have found a loyal and devoted partner in Jack. She had a very rewarding and productive career as an Executive Secretary at Texas Instruments, but she chose to stop working when her daughter, Cristina, was born. Andy was a loyal friend and corresponded regularly with close friends who lived all across the country. She was beautiful inside and out and enjoyed doing things for her friends and family. She had a great love of the arts and fine design. She and Jack shared a passion for sports, and she particularly loved University of Oklahoma sports. Another one of Andy’s great interests was travel. She and Jack traveled extensively and especially enjoyed their trips with longtime friends Glenda and Tim Anderson, of Honolulu, HI. Andy often said that one of the greatest joys of her life was being a “Yia Yia” to her grandsons, Hunter and Matthew, and she spoiled them with her love. Andy will be greatly missed by her husband, Jack Dugan of Dallas, TX, daughter Cristina Schmidt and her husband Eric and their sons Hunter and Matthew of Denver, CO, brother Pete Klentos of Lafayette, LA, sister-in-law Evelyn Sommers and her husband John of Bethesda, MD, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service celebrating Andy’s life will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home on August 7, 2015 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a consideration of donation to The American Thoracic Society Foundation (http://foundation.thoracic.org), which funds lung research, or to a charity of your choice.
