BORGER - Clyde B. Gaines, 83, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fairlanes Baptist Church with the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors.

A Borger resident for 54 years, Mr. Gaines was a native of Marion County, Kan. He retired after 37 years as an electrician for Phillips E&P. He was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church, Borger Shriners, a 50-year member of Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355 and a lifetime member of the El Paso Scottish Rite.

He married Virginia Carpenter in 1938 at Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Samuel B. Gaines of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Donald E. Gaines of Fresno, Calif.; three brothers, Burdette H. Gaines of Eureka, Kan., Vernon E. Gaines of Oklahoma City and Ralph F. Gaines of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; a sister, Bernice Baker of Eufaula, Okla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today in Brown's Chapel of the Fountains.
